This event at Lydden saw numerous entries from Xsport Racing in the Production BMW Cup, Chris Knott BARC Intermarque Challenge, Cannons MSA Ltd Tin Top Challenge and the Dunlop Motorsport News Saloon Championship. Kevin and Robin Welsh were out in the BMW's, John Cross and Paul Dickinson were both in SEAT Leon's, and Andy Woods-Dean was back out in his Renault Megane.
The first day saw Robin winning both his races by a considerable margin, with Dad Kevin finishing 14th overall in his races, which were his first at this circuit. Andy won his class twice in the Intermarque Challenge, with John and Paul having a very close battle to both get a 1st and 2nd in class in their two races.
Sunday saw more of the same, Paul finished 2nd in class in the first DMN race, with John 6th. Andy finished 4th in class, and Kevin finished 10th in the B final for the BMW's. Robin and Kevin also took part in the Tin Tops against much faster machinery, so put on a good show for the crowd, much to their delight.
The second DMN race included Paul's SEAT after the Xsport crew had fixed the damage inflicted when the car was involved in a last corner incident with Darren Bly's Skyline in race one. Paul his first DMN class win and also won the VAG Saloons prize for first car home. John finished 3rd in class, and won the VAG Saloons prize for making up the most amount of places in the race.
Robin won the BMW A final by a massive margin, bringing his total overall wins for the weekend to 3. Andy finished 4th in class in his second race, with the last race of the day being another crowd pleaser from Robin and Kevin in the Tin Tops.
The BMW's head to Snetterton for their next outing, with the DMN boys and girls off to Castle Combe.
